04:52 PM EDT, 07/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management-backed (APO) Legendary Entertainment is considering a takeover bid for Lionsgate Studios ( LION ) , Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the situation.

Legendary approached Lionsgate after its May separation from Starz Entertainment ( STRZ ) , proposing a film partnership as a possible step toward a merger, the report said.

Legendary and Lionsgate declined to comment, Bloomberg reported.

A spokesperson for Lionsgate declined to comment to MT Newswires, and Legendary didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
