08:11 AM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) is working on a new smart doorbell featuring FaceID technology for automatic door unlocking, Bloomberg reported Sunday.

The device wirelessly connects to the deadbolt lock, identifying the residents by scanning their faces, the report said.

The doorbell is in the early stages of development and could be released in late 2025 at the earliest, according to the report.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
