06:08 AM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) is facing a lawsuit over its alleged violation of US antitrust laws in restricting its rivals' access to the iPhone's hardware and software features, Bloomberg News reported late Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Sources told Bloomberg that the US Justice Department could file the lawsuit in federal court as soon as Thursday as the government continues to crack down on antitrust battles against tech giants.

Apple ( AAPL ) and the Justice Department did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
