11:42 AM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) and Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) are set to face the first investigations under the European Union's Digital Markets Act, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The probes will seek to determine whether app developers can fairly access Apple's ( AAPL ) App Store or Google's ( GOOG ) Play Store, Bloomberg said.

Neither Apple ( AAPL ) nor Alphabet immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
