08:17 AM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) is in in last-minute talks with European Commission regulators to avoid a fine over its App Store practices, the Financial Times reported Monday.
The talks come as a two-month deadline to revise the App Store rules is about to expire on Thursday following a 500 million euro ($573.6 million) fine imposed on Apple ( AAPL ) for violating the EU's Digital Markets Act, the report said.
Apple ( AAPL ) is expected to offer concessions on its "steering" rules, which currently restrict developers from directing users to alternative offers outside the App Store, the report said, citing people familiar with the discussions.
The people said negotiations also involve Apple's ( AAPL ) core technology fee, which charges developers per annual install after the first 1 million downloads.
