03:47 PM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) lost its bid to dismiss an antitrust case lodged by the US Department of Justice and a group of state attorneys general, Bloomberg reported Monday.
The suit alleges that the iPhone maker breached antitrust regulations by preventing competitors from accessing hardware and software features on its devices, the report said.
The DOJ also claims Apple ( AAPL ) used its influence over app distribution and iPhone features to stifle innovations that could have made it easier for consumers to switch phones, according to the report.
"Allegations of this nature, which indicate that Apple ( AAPL ) acts in a manner to protect its monopoly power in the smartphone and performance smartphone market, are sufficient," US District Judge Julien Xavier Neals in New Jersey said in the ruling, according to Bloomberg.
Apple ( AAPL ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
