08:37 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) is not required to disclose commercial secrets in an Indian regulatory investigation related to an antitrust case, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing a confidential order.
The Competition Commission of India found in 2024 that Apple ( AAPL ) exploited its dominant position in the apps market by forcing developers to use its in-app purchase system, according to the report.
The company's opponents in the case, Match (MTCH) and startup group Alliance of Digital India Foundation, asked the Commission to allow access to certain confidential information, including developer payouts. The commission denied the request, saying the information could cause harm to Apple ( AAPL ) if released, the news outlet reported.
"The Commission notes that disclosure of such redacted information at this stage to ADIF and Match is neither necessary nor expedient ... and disclosure of the same could potentially cause harm to the interests of Apple ( AAPL ) and other third parties," Reuters quoted the Commission's order as saying.
Apple ( AAPL ) and Match did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
