11:11 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) plans to make changes to its App Store to satisfy European Union regulators that issued an ultimatum to the company and issued a 500 million euros ($581.1 million) fine, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter.
The company will propose changes by Thursday's deadline that will make it easier for third-party developers to guide customers to buy software outside the App Store, the sources reportedly said.
The commitment will protect the company from future penalties for failing to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act, the report added.
The European Commission is preparing a charge sheet against Apple ( AAPL ) if it misses Thursday's deadline, according to the report.
Apple ( AAPL ) and the European Commission did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
