07:05 AM EST, 12/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) will begin manufacturing wireless earphones in India for the first time in early 2025, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

A supplier connected to Apple's ( AAPL ) main manufacturing partner Foxconn Technology Group will start large-scale AirPods assembly at a new factory near Hyderabad in Telangana state around Q1, the report said.

The earphones will be the second major Apple ( AAPL ) product to be assembled in India, after the iPhone, as the company attempts to move its manufacturing out of China ahead of anticipated tensions between Beijing and Washington during President-elect Donald Trump's second term, the report said.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
