07:16 AM EDT, 10/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) received a favorable verdict in a patent infringement case by Identity Security related to user verification and data security technology in its iPhone products, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

The report said that an Austin federal jury for the US District Court of the Western District of Texas determined Apple ( AAPL ) didn't infringe four asserted patents by placing technology for its Face ID, Touch ID, and passcode security functions into smartphones, dismissing the plaintiff's bid for more than $360 million in damages.

Identity Security sued Apple ( AAPL ) in May 2021.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
