12:17 PM EDT, 07/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) recent changes to its App Store rules and fees are likely to receive a green light from EU antitrust regulators, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the situation.
The iPhone maker said last month that developers will face a 20% processing fee for purchases made through the App Store, which can decrease to 13% for Apple's ( AAPL ) small-business program, Reuters said, adding that developers directing users to external payment methods will pay fees ranging from 5% to 15% and may now use unlimited links to outside platforms.
The adjustments come after the EU fined Apple ( AAPL ) 500 million Euros ($586.7 million) in April and gave it 60 days to comply with the Digital Markets Act, the report said.
The Commission is expected to approve Apple's ( AAPL ) new framework in the coming weeks, though the timeline could shift, according to the people.
Apple ( AAPL ) and The European Commission didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
