09:24 AM EDT, 06/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Arm Holdings ( ARM ) aims to capture more than 50% of the Windows Personal Computer market within five years, Reuters reported Monday, citing the chip designer's chief executive officer, Rene Haas, as saying in an interview.
"Arm's market share in Windows - I think, truly, in the next five years, it could be better than 50%," the report quoted Haas as saying.
Microsoft (MSFT) is planning to launch a new set of PCs that will run on Arm-designed chips, according to the report.
Additionally, at the Computex forum in Taipei, Haas said Arm Holdings ( ARM ) anticipates having 100 billion Arm devices worldwide capable of supporting artificial intelligence by the end of next year, Reuters reported separately.
Shares of Arm were up 4% in recent Monday premarket activity.
