Oct 10, 2025 10:57 AM

01:32 PM EDT, 10/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- AstraZeneca ( AZN ) has agreed on a deal with President Donald Trump to lower drug prices in the US, and an agreement could be announced later in the day, MSNBC reported Friday, citing a White House official.

The deal will include a "most-favored-nation" drug pricing model that aims to make prices of medicines cheaper for low-income Americans, including those on Medicaid, according to the report.

AstraZeneca ( AZN ) has also agreed to invest $50 billion in its drug manufacturing and research and development facilities in the US, the official said, adding that the company's Chief Executive Officer Pascal Soriot will meet Trump and will be present during the Oval Office announcement Friday afternoon, according to MSNBC.

AstraZeneca ( AZN ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
