04:02 PM EST, 02/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Baidu ( BIDU ) plans to release Ernie 5.0, the next generation of its artificial intelligence model with expanded capabilities during H2 2025, CNBC reported Wednesday, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.

Baidu ( BIDU ) introduced its Ernie large language model in March 2023. Ernie 5.0 will add several multimodal and other AI improvements for processing text, videos, images, audio and other tasks, the source told CNBC.

Baidu ( BIDU ) did not immediately respond to a message from MT Newswires seeking comment.
