05:52 AM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) has hired Kreab, a public relations firm, to help it address the Spanish government's resistance to its hostile takeover bid for rival Banco de Sabadell, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

BBVA aims to leverage Kreab's expertise to influence public opinion and government officials to support the acquisition, according to the report.

BBVA and Kreab did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
