03:55 PM EDT, 04/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of America ( BAC ) must face a lawsuit alleging it misled its customers on a promise to refund overdraft fees to provide relief for those financially distressed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a federal judge has ruled, Reuters reported Thursday.

The pandemic relief was offered under the bank's Client Assistance Program that was launched in 2020, the report said.

The bank had sought to dismiss the case, according to Reuters.

The bank declined to comment on Wednesday's decision by US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, according to the report.

Bank of America ( BAC ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
