04:21 AM EDT, 03/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of America ( BAC ) has agreed to pay $72.5 million to settle a lawsuit accusing it of enabling abuse by Jeffrey Epstein, Reuters reported Friday, citing court records.
The report said the bank denied wrongdoing but stated that the settlement would help resolve the case and provide closure for victims.
The deal still requires court approval, it added.
While plaintiffs lawyer agreed that the move offers faster financial relief, they may seek up to 30% in legal fees, Reuters reported.
The lawsuit alleged that the bank ignored suspicious transactions linked to Epstein, Reuters said, adding that a victim flagged payments to Epstein from Apollo Global Management ( APO ) co-founder Leon Black, who has denied any misconduct.
The lawyers are also appealing the dismissal in January of a similar lawsuit they filed against Bank of New York Mellon ( BK ) , the report added.
Bank of America ( BAC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
