07:15 AM EDT, 08/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bank of America ( BAC ) urged its bankers to accurately report their working hours and follow company policies that prevent overwork after an investigation by The Wall Street Journal found that the bankers are often pressured to lie about their hours, the newspaper reported Tuesday.
The Wall Street Journal published its findings on Sunday and said the information was based on conversations with over three dozen current and former bankers from the company. On Monday, the bank's managers told junior bankers to alert senior officers or the human resources department if they were being pressured to lie about their working hours.
According to the newspaper, a spokeswoman from Bank of America ( BAC ) said the company's practices are clear and all employees and managers are expected to follow them.
Bank of America ( BAC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
