02:00 PM EDT, 05/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Barrick Gold (GOLD) has no plans of returning to in-person annual general meetings format, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing an interview with Chief Executive Mark Bristow, a day after the company's latest virtual-only session.

Bristow said he "can't see any reason" to return to in-person annual meetings, which had previously been a venue for heated exchanges between him and activist groups, according to the report.

The company did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
