12:38 PM EDT, 10/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Baytex Energy ( BTE ) is considering selling its operations in the Eagle Ford shale of south Texas as it seeks to concentrate on its domestic portfolio, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the situation.

The Canadian oil and gas producer is working with advisers to gauge buyer interest in the assets, which could be valued at up to $3 billion, the sources told the news outlet.

The discussions are preliminary, and no final decision has been made, with Baytex still able to retain the assets, according to the report.

Baytex didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
