07:40 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Tuesday on Bloomberg Television that a "formal process" has already started to identify Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's likely successor.

Bessent also suggested Powell should step down from the Fed's board of governors when his term as chair ends in May 2026.
