08:26 AM EDT, 05/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Beyond Meat ( BYND ) plant-based beef products are being phased out by Carl's Jr. and Del Taco Restaurants amid fading consumer interest, Bloomberg reported late on Monday.

Carl's Jr. has removed the Beyond Burger from most of its locations as of April, the report said, citing a restaurant spokesperson.

Jack in the Box-owned (JACK) Del Taco removed Beyond Meat ( BYND ) from all of its around 600 locations last spring due to low sales but is still exploring new plant-based options, a restaurant spokesperson told Bloomberg.

Beyond Meat ( BYND ), facing a decline in its shares, is launching a new version of its burger and plans to raise prices, the report said.

Carl's Jr., Del Taco, and Beyond Meat ( BYND ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.

Shares of Beyond Meat ( BYND ) were up 1.7% in Tuesday premarket activity.
