10:54 AM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- US President Joe Biden is appointing two new economic advisors as he pursues his administration's industrial policy and reinforces restrictions on China before the November election, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing senior administration officials.
Biden is promoting Navtej Dhillon to deputy director of the National Economic Council and hiring Mike Konczal as a special assistant for economic policy, the report said.
Dhillon, who most recently served as chief of staff at the NEC, will concentrate on industrial policy, climate finance and Chinese economic practices the US deems unfair, Bloomberg said. Konczal is a former director at the Roosevelt Institute.
The White House didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
