Market Chatter: BlackRock Bars Use of Company Devices on China Business Trips

05:57 AM EDT, 07/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock ( BLK ) has instructed employees traveling to China for business to use temporary loaner phones and refrain from bringing company laptops, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, quoting an internal memo it had seen.

The firm also prohibited the use of BlackRock ( BLK )-issued devices such as iPhones and iPads, as well as remote access via virtual private networks, or VPNs, the report added.

The restrictions were effective July 16.

Employees were informed they would not have access to the BlackRock ( BLK ) network during personal travel in China, it noted.

Blackrock ( BLK ) didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
