03:48 PM EDT, 09/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock's ( BLK ) Rick Rieder, chief investment officer of global fixed income, is among contenders to serve as the next chair of the Federal Reserve after Jerome Powell's term ends in May, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing an administration official.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Rieder, one of the most senior executives at BlackRock ( BLK ), discussed monetary policy, the Fed's organizational structure, and regulatory policy in a two-hour interview on Friday, the report said.

BlackRock ( BLK ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
