Market Chatter: BlackRock Shareholders Asked by ISS to Reject Executive Compensation Plans
May 25, 2025 8:02 PM

08:35 AM EDT, 04/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock ( BLK ) shareholders have been asked by proxy adviser Institutional Shareholder Services to reject the company's executive compensation plans, Reuters reported Monday.

The proxy adviser said that BlackRock ( BLK ) had not addressed what actions it would take to consider shareholder feedback for future compensation decisions regarding one-time awards, according to the report.

BlackRock ( BLK ) has engaged with investors to talk about a long-term incentive for CEO Larry Fink, but ISS said the company had not provided assurances that the discussions would take place before any significant compensation changes, Reuters reported.

In an emailed statement to MT Newswires, BlackRock ( BLK ) said its "executive compensation program takes a metrics-driven approach that aligns compensation with the successful delivery of long-term business goals on behalf of shareholders."

"2024 was a milestone year for BlackRock ( BLK ), with record net inflows, revenue, and operating income, delivered while managing transformational private markets growth, which positions us to drive further shareholder value creation. We value the opinion of our shareholders and look forward to continued engagement," the company said.
