10:32 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock's ( BLK ) private-debt arm is eyeing opportunities to attract investment from insurance firms seeking to expand their exposure to the asset class, to grow its private-debt assets, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing the firm's global head of private debt.

The firm currently lacks any formal collaborations, James Keenan reportedly told Bloomberg. It is not yet clear what specific form these partnerships might take, the report said.

BlackRock ( BLK ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of BlackRock ( BLK ) were up more than 3% in early trading.
