Market Chatter: Blackstone's Higher $427 Million Offer for 'Can of Ham' Building in London Rejected by Nuveen
Mar 27, 2025 6:06 AM

08:47 AM EDT, 03/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Blackstone's (BX) offer of 330 million British pounds ($427.4 million) for the "Can of Ham" building in London has been rejected by Nuveen, the tower's owner, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a source close to the matter.

The most recent discussions between Blackstone and Nuveen about the property fell through due to the price, the report said.

Blackstone's previous offer of 300 million pounds was turned down last year, the report added.

Blackstone's new offer exceeded Nuveen's asking price of 322 million pounds when it listed the building last year, but Nuveen has since raised its expectations due to strong leasing activity in London, the report said.

Blackstone declined to comment when contacted by MT Newswires, and Nuveen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
