Market Chatter: Boeing 737 MAX Crash Victim Families Ask US Judge to Appoint Corporate Monitor
Jun 25, 2024 3:40 AM

06:27 AM EDT, 06/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- A group of Boeing ( BA ) 737 MAX crash victim family members on Monday asked a US judge to appoint a corporate monitor to assess the aviation giant's safety and corporate compliance, Reuters reported late Monday, citing a court filing.

The family members claimed in the filing that "Boeing ( BA ) presents an ongoing threat to public safety," the report said.

The safety issues cited in the motion include a US Justice Department determination that the company breached a 2021 prosecution deal and a mid-air emergency of a new Alaska Airlines Max 9 aircraft in January, among others, the report added.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
