12:16 PM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus aircraft delivery delays are "massively frustrating" for chief executives of airlines, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing the head of the International Air Transport Association or IATA.
IATA Director General Willie Walsh told an Irish think-tank that the delays are "having a big impact," Reuters reported.
CEOs of airline companies told Walsh that "the situation doesn't look like it's getting any worse, so it seems to have bottomed out or plateaued, but it's not yet getting better," according to the report, which cited the director general.
The capacity constraints due to the delays, which come amid supply chain challenges, have been criticized by some European airlines at a Brussels conference, the report said.
Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
