06:24 AM EDT, 03/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus are looking to ramp up production of their next-generation jets to about 100 jets per month for each company as they explore potential components of their future models, Reuters reported Monday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, the companies are studying the use of novel materials such as thermoplastics and manufacturing at faster speeds to address supply chains issues and long wait for the development of future engines.
Speakers at a recent Paris composites fair said the studies are using an assumed future production rate of 80 jets a month each for Airbus and Boeing ( BA ), more than double of Boeing's ( BA ) current production, Reuters added.
Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
