02:02 PM EDT, 04/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus are exploring a framework agreement to divide the operations of supplier Spirit AeroSystems Holdings ( SPR ) , Reuters reported Thursday, citing unnamed sources.

The three companies are in discussions but the format of the talks is unclear and it is uncertain that a deal would be reached, the report said. It was also unclear whether Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus representatives have met face to face, the report added.

Boeing ( BA ) declined MT Newswires' request for comment, while Airbus and Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

Boeing ( BA ) shares were up 1.3% and Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) shares rose 2.3% in recent trading.
