08:38 AM EDT, 10/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus are not close to developing new narrow-body planes, Reuters reported Monday.

The report cited comments made by Boeing's ( BA ) head of commercial marketing, Darren Hulst, at the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading conference, and an unnamed senior executive at Airbus.

Hulst told the conference that a new plane design is "some way off," while the Airbus executive said it will "take a bit of time," Reuters reported.

Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
