03:58 PM EDT, 07/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has asked its suppliers to provide records of Chinese titanium purchases dating back to 2014 following concerns about the use of false documentation to verify the metal's authenticity in commercial jets, Reuters reported Friday, citing a company letter.
The company's letter to suppliers, sent in July, asks for a response by Aug. 9 in order to ensure proper compliance, reported the media outlet.
Boeing ( BA ) supplier Spirit AeroSystems' ( SPR ) spokesperson Joe Buccino reportedly said that his company will fully comply with Boeing's ( BA ) requests in the letter.
Neither Boeing ( BA ) nor Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) immediately responded to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
