03:55 PM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) Chief Executive Officer Dave Calhoun and senior company officials are scheduled to meet Mike Whitaker, the head of the Federal Aviation Administration, on Thursday in Washington to discuss the plane maker's quality improvement strategy, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing sources.
The FAA gave Boeing ( BA ) 90 days to devise a comprehensive plan to tackle "systemic quality-control issues" following a door panel blowout during a Jan. 5 flight on a new Alaska Airlines 737 Max, Reuters said.
The meeting, which is expected to take place at FAA headquarters, is anticipated to last three hours or possibly longer, the report said.
Attendees will likely include Stephanie Pope, head of Boeing Commercial Airplanes; Elizabeth Lund, Boeing's ( BA ) quality head; and Mike Fleming, senior vice president and general manager of airplane programs, Reuters said.
The FAA and Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately comment, Reuters said.

Boeing ( BA ) shares fell 1.6% in recent trading Wednesday.
