07:04 AM EDT, 06/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) on Wednesday said that the maiden voyage of its Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station was "going well," despite reports of problems with the spacecraft that has delayed its return to earth, the Financial Times reported, citing a company statement.
Boeing ( BA ) and NASA decided to postpone the return flight from the space station until next month amid reports of helium and problems with five of its thrusters, the FT reported.
Despite the problems, Boeing ( BA ) rejected suggestions it had "stranded" two astronauts aboard the space station and said the Starliner "performed well," the FT reported.
"It is a test flight," the company said, according to the FT. "The mission is still going and it is going well."
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
