05:17 AM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) is considering former Rockwell Collins Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg as a candidate to become the planemaker's next CEO, The Air Current reported Sunday, citing multiple industry officials.
Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) CEO Pat Shanahan and Boeing ( BA ) Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Pope are also among the candidates being considered for
the role, the report said.
Boeing's ( BA ) board has not yet voted on a selection but the company wants to make a decision "sooner than later," according to the news outlet.
Ortberg retired in 2021 as an adviser to the CEO of Rockwell Collins' parent RTX (RTX) after heading Rockwell Collins and its successor entities for about eight years, Reuters said.
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
