07:26 AM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus could split China Airlines' multi-billion-dollar order for long-distance passenger jets as the airline looks to add capacity and replace 10 Boeing 777-300ER jets, Reuters reported Thursday, citing unnamed industry sources.
Sources told Reuters that China Airlines could order up to 20 passenger jets, split equally between Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus. No financial details were disclosed but Reuters said the order could be worth almost $4 billion based on aviation consultancy firm Cirium Ascend's estimate of delivery prices.
According to the report, the sources also said there is no guarantee over the order's numbers or the types of jets involved.
Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
