08:20 AM EDT, 08/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) will likely fall short of its 2024 production target for the 737 MAX jet, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing analysts from Moody's and S&P Global Ratings.
The report said the company's goal is to produce 38 MAX jets per month by the end of 2024, up from 25 in July.
It added that however analysts predict a delay until 2025 due to risks like possible labor disruptions at the planemaker's facilities in the Seattle area.
Moody's analyst Jonathan Root estimates Boeing ( BA ) would produce 32 MAX jets per month by the end of 2024, reaching the 38-jet target in H2 2025, according to Reuters.
Root added that Spirit AeroSystems (SPR), set to be acquired by Boeing ( BA ), will play a key role in supporting increased output.
Boeing ( BA ), in a statement, referred Reuters to the recent comments from its finance chief and reaffirmed its production output to rise in H2 2024 to reach 38 planes per month by year end.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
