Nov 13, 2025 2:14 AM

04:47 AM EST, 11/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has been ordered to pay more than $28 million to the family of a United Nations environmental worker killed in the 2019 crash of a 737 MAX jet in Ethiopia, according to a report from Reuters.

The verdict from a jury in federal court in Chicago on Wednesday is among the lawsuits filed in the wake of the Ethiopia crash and another in Indonesia in 2018, which combined killed 346 people, the news report said.

Boeing ( BA ) has settled over 90% of related lawsuits, the news report added.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to an out-of-office hours request for comment from MTNewswires.
