06:43 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has paused contract negotiations with the striking machinists union and does not plan to resume talks until after the Labor Day holiday, Reuters reported late Tuesday, quoting union officials.
Negotiations had only just restarted the day before for the first time since the strike began on Aug. 4, the report said.
About 3,200 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 837 went on strike at Boeing Defense's St. Louis-area facilities after rejecting the planemaker's four-year contract proposal, the report said.
These workers assemble Boeing's ( BA ) F-15 and F/A-18 fighter jets, the T-7 trainer jet, munitions, and wing sections for the commercial 777X aircraft, the report added.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
