04:46 AM EDT, 07/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) has restarted wide-body plane deliveries to China that were halted in May due to a review by the Civil Aviation Administration of China of batteries in 25-hour cockpit voice recorders, Reuters reported Monday citing flight tracking data and two unnamed sources.
Two brand-new Boeing ( BA ) wide-body 777 freighters registered to Air China Cargo flew from Everett Paine Field in Washington state, where Boeing ( BA ) has a factory, to Beijing on Friday and Sunday, according to flight tracking platform FlightRadar24.
A source told Reuters that all Boeing ( BA ) deliveries to China are now set to resume.
China suspended most orders of Boeing ( BA ) planes in 2019 after the 737 MAX was grounded globally following fatal crashes, and deliveries of the wide bodies had just re-started in December 2023, the report said.
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
