06:53 AM EST, 01/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) will have to maintain a production cap until it overcomes questions about the quality of its planes, newly confirmed US Transportation Secretary-designate Sean Duffy said in a written submission to the US Senate, Reuters reported Wednesday.
"The cap will be maintained and will be lifted when I, in consultation with the career safety experts at FAA and the Administrator, have confidence that a production increase will not reduce the quality of the aircraft being produced," Duffy said in the letter, according to Reuters.
Duffy, a Wisconsin Congressman, was unanimously approved by the Senate Transportation Committee on Wednesday.
Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
