12:51 PM EDT, 04/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration after a whistle-blower identified flaws in the company's 787 Dreamliner, the New York Times reported Tuesday.
Boeing ( BA ) engineer Sam Salehpour reportedly told the paper and in documents given to the FAA that the fuselage of the 787 Dreamliner could break apart after thousands of trips due to a fault in how they were fastened.
The FAA confirmed to the NYT it was investigating the claims, the report said. A Boeing ( BA ) spokesperson was quoted as saying that based on extensive testing, there was no immediate safety of flight issue on the Dreamliner.
Neither Boeing ( BA ) nor the FAA immediately responded to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
