02:53 PM EST, 12/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boston Beer ( SAM ) Chair Jim Koch's wife, Cynthia Fisher, will inherit his controlling stake in the company, the couple said in a Wall Street Journal report published Wednesday.

Fisher is currently a Boston Beer ( SAM ) director.

Meanwhile, Boston Beer's ( SAM ) sales in US stores, excluding liquor stores, were down 3.8% by volume in the year ended Nov. 30, according to the report, citing a Bernstein analysis of NielsenIQ data.

Koch told WSJ, however, that he has no plans to retire soon and is not worried about the company's declining sales.

Boston Beer ( SAM ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
