04:32 AM EDT, 08/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Edgar Bronfman Jr. hopes to create a partnership between Paramount Global ( PARAA ) and big tech firms such as Amazon ( AMZN ) and Apple ( AAPL ) should he successfully acquire the media company, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The media executive believes such a deal could improve the performance of Paramount's streaming business, according to the report.
Investors led by Bronfman and a consortium headed by David Ellison's Skydance Media are competing to acquire Paramount.
Bloomberg reported that while Bronfman would become chief executive of Paramount under his proposal, he also hopes to retain current company leaders.
Paramount did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment. A contact for Bronfman was not readily available.
