08:28 AM EDT, 05/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Brookfield Asset Management ( BAM ) intends to invest $500 million for a majority stake in Indian renewable power firm Leap Green Energy, Bloomberg reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Brookfield will make the investment through its global transition fund, which raised $10 billion in February, the report said.
Leap Green now has more than 750 megawatts of operational capacity and aims to expand to seven gigawatts by 2029, the report added.
Brookfield and Leap Green did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
