Jun 17, 2024 5:48 AM

08:19 AM EDT, 06/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Bunge (BG) and Glencore-backed Viterra's $34 billion merger will be decided by EU antitrust regulators by July 18, Reuters reported on Monday, citing a European Commission filing.

The Commission could approve the deal as it is or with conditions after its initial assessment, or it may launch a more detailed four-month investigation if it has significant concerns, a Reuters report said.

The report added that regulatory approval is also needed in North America, South America, and China for the deal to proceed.
