03:32 PM EDT, 03/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Carnival (CCL) Chief Financial Officer David Bernstein said the cruise operator is unlikely to sail through the Red Sea for the rest of 2024 and early next year due to attacks by Iranian-backed Houthi militants on vessels, Reuters reported Wednesday.
"We decided that it was time to recognize the fact that we probably won't be sailing there, and perhaps for the rest of this year and perhaps early in 2025 as well," Bernstein said in an interview, according to Reuters.
Carnival did not immediately respond to a request for comment by MT Newswires.
