07:53 AM EST, 02/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Chief Operating Officer Adam Martinez told workers Sunday to work remotely as the agency's Washington, D.C. headquarters would be closed through Feb. 14, CNBC reported Monday, citing an internal memo it obtained.
The memo follows an email sent Saturday by acting CFPB Director Russell Vought that instructed staff to suspend almost all regulatory activities, including supervising financial companies, CNBC reported.
The CFPB did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
